Coffee mugs are useful for many things, and history dates them to back before the Stone Age. The first mugs were carved from bones and technology today has them made from almost everything. As funny as it seems, in 1748 Britain had banned coffee and all merchandise that had anything to do with it. This ban created a black market for mugs and coffee associated products. The mug handle was placed such that it would always remain cool while your beverage remained heated. While mugs have transitioned through the years as technology has advanced, one of the greatest changes was for travel mugs, allowing all of us to take our coffee or heated beverage with us while on the go.Mugs have always had more of a circular, round or concave design. The design is important in the thermal contact with surfaces and created to help reduce stains. The travel variety of coffee mugs have been constructed more of stainless steel to help provide better insulation and more sturdy handling.

Coffee mugs have been used as a great tool for making money for fundraising. Many nonprofit organizations use them, because they are inexpensive to make and provide a great gift for everyone while being a reasonable cost for people to spend. The mugs can have your organizations name, picture, or other design placed on the outside. They are great for advertising, and certainly the number one item that people seem to use in fundraising efforts. They are also used quite a lot in corporate organizations for gifts, as well as companies sell them for their employees, and cities sell them for tourist gifts.
